On September 22, SEM Arnaud de Viviès met Mr. Philippe POINSOT, UN resident Coordinator ; the issue of Burkinabe refugees was raised, as well as the support that could be provided by the Sovereign Order of Malta through its emergency relief agency, Malteser International, or through the Order of Malta’s French association.
During the meeting on september 20, with the new Belgian ambassador, Carol van Eyll, who arrived recently, Ambassador de Viviès recalled all the actions carried out by the Sovereign Order of Malta in Côte d'Ivoire for over fifty years, with the French association of the Order of Malta, and with the association of friends of the Order of Malta in Côte d'Ivoire.
On September 20, Ambassador de Viviès was on hand at St Jean-Baptiste hospital to launch the maxillofacial surgery program carried out in partnership between the hospital and the Atef Omaïs Foundation, represented by its Secretary General, Mr Ramzy Omaïs.
HEM. Matthias Veltin, the new German ambassador, who is well acquainted with the Order of Malta and the German association subordinate to the Order, received Ambassador de Viviès at the Chancellery, on september 19.
