Rhodes and of Malta
Following an initial meeting between the two officials to gain a better understanding of the Order, Ms. Nialé KABA hosted the Ambassador de Viviès, the First Counselor, and the First Secretary of the Embassy, along with all of the Minister’s staff. This meeting provided an opportunity to review in greater detail the Order’s overall structure and activities in Côte d’Ivoire.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Faman TOURE, along with several colleagues, welcomed Ambassador de Viviès and the First Secretary. He expressed his desire for us to give him a tour of the hospital so that he could better introduce it to the more than 80,000 companies affiliated with the CCI-CI, particularly those in the Bodo and Tiassalé regions, and requested a presentation on HSJB as well as a list of projects that could be integrated into the CSR policies of Ivorian companies.
Ms. Solange AMICHIA, Director General of CEPICI, welcomed His Excellency Ambassador de Viviès and the First Secretary, and presented the advanced model of the future free zone, which will soon include the St Jean-Baptiste hospital at the center of this 250-hectare area.
His Excellency Ambassador de Viviès visited Minister General Vagondo DIOMANDE to relaunch the partnership between CISOM and the National Civil Protection Office. The Director was able to attend the meeting, which made it possible to hold a working meeting with this Directorate the following day and to discuss the three working themes and the framework of the partnership. A CISOM identification mission is scheduled to take place in January, and three one-week training courses are planned before the beginning of April 2026.
The two ambassadors, H.E. Roberta DI LECCE and H.E. Ambassador de Viviès, discussed coordination among donors in the field of health in Côte d'Ivoire, as well as the possible entry into the Health Club of the new Italian development agency, which recently opened in Abidjan.
In the absence of the new ambassador, His Excellency Arnaud de Viviès was received by the Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Mr. Abdechakour GUENBOUR. We discussed Morocco's important cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire, visa issues for the Africa Cup of Nations, and the upcoming appointment of the new ambassador.
The new Managing Director of CMA-CGM in Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Alae RAHMOUNE, received His Excellency the Ambassador of VIVIES, accompanied by the First Secretary. Contact will be established with his CSR manager, and partnership opportunities remain possible in the context of specific promotional events (breast cancer week, Women's Day, etc.), where St Jean-Baptiste Hospital would be supported by this company. A comprehensive presentation of the hospital and its projects has been requested.
The Director General of the ONPCI brought together all his staff, in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador VIVIES and First Secretary Ms. Florence MOREAU, to examine and confirm the support offered by the Italian relief corps of the Order of Malta in the context of natural disaster management. This mission is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2026.
On December 26, the Belgian Ambassador and his family visited the hospital. In addition to the presentation of the organization and a complete tour of the premises, opportunities for partnerships seem possible with Belgian companies located near the hospital site, but perhaps also with the Belgian Association of the Order of Malta; avenues for exploration remain open in this area.
