Celebration of the Feast of St. John the Baptist at St. John the Baptist Hospital in Bodo
The Feast of St. John the Baptist was traditionally celebrated at St. John the Baptist Hospital on June 24. Several representatives from government ministries and diplomatic missions, as well as partner companies, attended this event, which is highly representative of the Order in Côte d’Ivoire. Following a Mass celebrated in St. Isabelle Chapel, a cocktail reception brought all the guests together with the hospital staff and its choir. A tour of the hospital facilities was then organized for the various institutions.

Visit to the Moroccan Ambassador
His Excellency Othmane EL FERDAOUS, who recently arrived in the country, received His Excellency de VIVIES at the Moroccan residence in Abidjan. The Moroccan ambassador was well acquainted with the Order of Malta’s activities in Morocco and expressed his desire to support us in our efforts.

Visit to Grand Britain Ambassador
His Excellency VIVIES had the opportunity to meet with his British counterpart, His Excellency John MARSHALL. He is very familiar with the Order—which he encountered while serving in Guinea and Dakar—as well as with the Order of St. John ; he is closely following the activities carried out in Côte d’Ivoire, particularly along the highway used by various oil distribution companies.

Meeting with MEDLOG – MSC Senior Management
Thanks to the hospital’s new director of external relations, an initial working meeting was held with MEDLOG’s CEO, Mr. Roland KOUADIO, who was accompanied by several colleagues, including Dr. Ohiri Florence ZEREDJI, the company’s chief medical officer. Discussions focused on providing support to the hospital as part of the Group’s CSR initiatives and arranging a visit in the coming weeks.

Visit to the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs
A meeting was held with His Excellency Amadou KONE, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, who received His Excellency the Ambassador and the First Secretary; this provided an opportunity to highlight to His Excellency the Minister the strategic location of St. Jean-Baptiste Hospital on a central, major, and high-traffic route, and to inform him of the expertise and capabilities of this hospital facility. Possible avenues for partnership were discussed regarding emergency medical services in the various local communities.

Meeting to West Africa Development Bank
SEM l’Ambassadeur de Viviès a rencontré M. Lassané TRAORE, adjoint du Directeur Général de la BOAD à Abidjan. Des pistes de partenariat et de mécénat ont été évoquées, tant par la banque, elle-même dans le cadre de sa politique RSE, que par la Fondation dont le siège est à Lomé, au Togo.

Meeting with Yeshi Group Senior Management
A meeting was organized by the hospital’s director of external relations, Ms. Kadi ALBRECHT, with Mr. Abdul Hussein BEYDOUN, President of the YYESHI Group. Mr. BEYDOUN is already very involved with the AOMCI and the Embassy, but is also expected to become involved with Saint Jean-Baptiste Hospital.

Meeting with French Development Agency
In the absence of Mr. Adrien HAYE, the Ambassador, along with the First Secretary, was received by his deputy, Ms. Magali KREITMANN, who was accompanied by Mr. Guenolé OUDRY. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss with the AFD the possibilities for the Hospital to participate in its programs. The Hospital’s capabilities were highlighted, as well as those of the clinics, all of which are supported by the Order and serve as true hubs of stability and community resilience. The possibility of the Hospital supporting the Institutes for the Training of Health Auxiliaries (INFAS), which are funded by the AFD, was discussed, and the AFD remains interested in our work with CISOM in the area of civil protection.

Visit to the Lebanon Ambassador
SEMs. Magida KARAKI received the Ambassador de Viviès and discussed the delicate and difficult situation facing her country, which is at war with Israel. All of the Order’s activities in Lebanon, as reported by the Grand Magistry’s communications office and the Lebanese association, were discussed.
