Meeting at St Jean Baptiste’s hospital

During his visit to the hospital, Ambassador de Viviès had the opportunity to speak with members of the Club Santé, organized by Business France and comprising most of Côte d'Ivoire's healthcare players. It was an opportunity to present the Sovereign Order of Malta and its many activities in Ivory Coast, notably at St Jean-Baptiste Hospital.

Visit to PISAM

Ambassador de Viviès and the First Secretary, Madam Moreau, visited the Polyclinique Internationale Sainte Anne-Marie (PISAM), run by Mr Eric Djibo. A new partnership is being built with this Abidjan hospital structure, of which the St Jean-Baptiste hospital in Bodo could be an advanced element on the Abidjan-Yamoussoukro axis. There are plans to provide a scanner that would boost St Jean-Baptiste's capacity to treat road accident emergencies.

Meeting with Lebanon Chamber of Commerce

Dr Joseph KHOURY, President of the Chamber, assisted by the Director General, received the Ambassador and the First Secretary. The Ordre de Malte is well known among our Lebanese friends, and this was an opportunity to talk about all the actions underway in Ivory Coast; several avenues were proposed (companies, insurance) to enhance the Hospital.

Meeting with French Chamber of Commerce

Ambassador de Viviès and the First Secretary were received by the Board of this Chamber of Commerce, where French companies meet. Supporting an association whose commitment they know and whose hospital services they appreciate, should not be an obstacle to a possible partnership to be relaunched by the Hospital in conjunction with the Embassy.

Visit to Portuguese Embassy

HEMm Maria DA CONCEIÇAO PILAR, who knew the Order very well when she was with the Portuguese Protocol, received the Ambassador to discuss possible partnerships with Portuguese industrialists and with the Portuguese association for the smooth running of the St Jean-Baptiste hospital in Bodo.

Visit to Japanese Embassy

HEM Junji GOMAKUBO received the Ambassador on February 27th. After a presentation of the Order, a possible partnership was discussed through the transfer of skills (doctors, nurses) and support in the field of equipment, linked to the Hospital's position on the Abidjan - Yamoussoukro axis; this activity could be studied, either with the Embassy directly, or with the Japanese development agency, JICA, active in the field of Health in Ivory Coast.

Meeting with Quebec Governement’s Representative

Madame Marie Hélène SULTAN, head of the Quebec government post in Abidjan, accompanied by her deputy, received the Ambassador and First Secretary to identify possible partnerships in the health sector, either for skills transfers (nurses, as in Cameroon), or for equipment

Visit to Mgr BESSI, the new Archbishop of Abidjan

Cardinal Ignace BESSI, met during a previous visit, succeeded Mgr KUTWA last August, received the Ambassador. An overview was given of the year 2025 and the forthcoming elections, and the partnership between a French diocese and Abidjan was discussed.

Meeting with the Minister of Health

Mr Pierre DIMBA received the Ambassador and the Director of St Jean-Baptiste Hospital, to sign the agreement between the Ivorian state and the St Jean-Baptiste association.
